complexion, brown hair, and blue eyes. Traveling with Annie Kate was an
Annie Feeny, age 19, a Domestic, whos father was Owen Feeney, Owenbeg,

Marriage Registration CMR: Wm. full age, farmer, father is Thomas,
farmer, deceased. Ellen full age, father is Thomas, a farmer. Bridget
Muldoon was also a Witness. Married in the Enniscrone RC Chapel. Reg. in
Castleconor District, Dromore West Union.( Note: Ellen was the wife of
Wm. Melvin, was from Castleconor Parish. They were married in the
Enniscrone RC Chapel 1/22/1891. An Ellen Egan was a witness to the
marriage. She is probably a relative of Ellen Murphy and is probably
related to the Michael Egan we see named on Mary Elizabeth's manifest
entry. Also, a Bridget Muldoon was also shown as a Witness to the
marriage of Wm. Melvin and Ellen Murphy. Mary Elizabeth's destination on
her manifest was an Ella Muldoon, who is probably related to the Bridget
Muldoon who was a witness to the wedding of Wm. and Ellen.) |

Came to the U.S. on 6/11/1916 on the SS Philadelphia. She was shown as
the dau. of a Wm. Melvin, Corimbla, Ballina. She was going to her Aunt
Ella Muldoon in New York City. She was 5'8" tall with dark complexion,
dark hair and gray eyes. She was detained upon arrival and was released
to her cousin, Michael Eagan, 1641 1st. Ave., New York City. The 1920
U.S. Census shows that Michael Egan was no longer at this address |

Sarah Melvin on the Ellis Island Site showed that she came to the U.S.
on SS St. LOUIS arriving port of New York 6/18/1916. The manifest showed
that Sarah Melvin was the daughter of James Melvin, Quay, Ballina. She
was age 19, her height was 5' 8", fair complexion, brown hair, and gray
eyes. Her destination was her Aunt Kate O'Brien, 1720 Judson St.,
Philadelphia, PA. |
